Please bear with the quality of the video clips. Some have problems with audio, but most with video. We think we have the problem figured out so future recordings won't have this problem. These clips are only meant to give a peek at what the performance might have been like. See Bio for details. A few are MP3s. Just click on the name of the song\scene/show. TX Thespian Fest/ Intl Thesp Festival @ U of NE--Lincoln Clip 1 "Tonight" from West Side Story home rehearsal (2002) * "Best Solo Vocal"
* FYI--This practice tape was done while I was ill--and
is not up to performance levels that won me TX Thespian Fest last year..
.I will replace it soon when I compete at NATS and Intl Fest. Thespian Convention is a state drama competition for HS plays and individual events. I've won once "Best Play" and twice " Best Solo Vocals/Musicals". Winning this is a ticket to the International Thespian Festival :a week of competitions, workshops, non-stop shows & more at University of NE. You can also qualify here for scholarships at various colleges, as well as American Academy of Arts and Presidential Arts Scholarships. It's a pretty cool program! An interesting note : New York, Hollywood, and top performance colleges look here for up and coming talent. A unique exp! |

Vocal Recital
Clip 1 "Oh What a Wonderful
Child" (2002) Xmas For the last three years my voice teacher has been Sandra Petersen--a wonderfully special person (along with her husband Tom) She has challenged and encouraged me a 1000%. She has taught me so much about music as well as the human spirit. I love her dearly! I just wish by the time I got to recital, after all my other commitments, I wasn't so exhausted :)...Pace thyself

Clip Act 1 Opening & Act 2 Comedic Fight scene Shakespeare is tough but rich. I was afraid to do it but I think I did well in the end. I'm glad I accepted the challenge--I learned a lot! It was a very different experience--and more fun than I expected. Shakespeare had a gift to understand human nature...

Bye Bye Birdie Clip "A Mother Doesn't Matter Anymore" I know this show is funny but it's nothing but a blur. I was very ill for 4 weeks in and out of school and doctors offices. Two days before opening I was supposed to be in the hospital with IV antibiotics. It took me a long time to recover--and catch up with my schoolwork . Just how I did this show and won TX Allstate Region Choir competition and Thespian Convention I'll never know- - -- I don't remember!! |

Guys&Dolls I really had a blast playing Adelaide. Comedy is tricky but it's great to make others laugh. Forgive the HS orchestra. They only had 2 weeks to learn this music. It was challenging as a singer! |

West Side Story Clip 1 Dance "America" "Tonight medley" "A Boy Like That" Scene How I love Bernstein's music! Now if I could only do it again--especially with a professional group--I can die and go to heaven happy! I really loved this show! |
**Noises Off One of my favorites! Our incredibly talented cast got written up on the front page in Lincoln, NE at Intl Fest. Reviews by the Cappies are still online. You have to see all three acts to appreciate this hysterically funny play about acting. Act 3: On stage everything does go wrong: wrong cues, wrong lines, interjected personal dialogue, missing props, missing actors, vendettas, even drunkenness. None stop laughter!! |

Labay Pop Show There is nothing quite like the fear
of singing for your classmates for the first time. I was terrified!
It didn't help that I hadn't had much chance to rehearse. This really
taught me the value of serious rehearsal time--it's what kicks in when you
get scared!

Cinderella Me, in a fairytale!? I love fairytales! I guess being Stepmother was a chance to be funny and dramatic in the same show. But, well, I'd like to play Cinderella at least once--you know, the one with all the romantic scenes with the prince!:) Isn't that every girl's dream?

Little Shop of Horrors Clip 1 "Little Shop of Horrors" Clip 2 "They say the Meek shall Inherit" Such a fun show to do! I really
enjoyed doing close harmony. Something about doing harmony makes you fast
friends! Great group! Great play!

Peter Pan
Well I never thought I would enjoy being a guy ! The
show needed a strong singer to punch up the pirates so I signed on as a
Tenor--yes me. Besides singing Soprano I and II and Alto I and II
sometimes I help with Tenor. Can't miss me--I'm the pirate in the loud
orange wig with the hair standing on end. Too funny! |

Grease
Clip 1 "There are Worst Things
I Could Do" This is a great show to do! Clip 1 though was one of those performances you wish only happened in nightmares! If you notice you can see the back of my skirt is tangled and I'm trying to hold something. I was trying to keep my mic from dropping to the floor as I sang--I had 1 minute for my switch off partner to take off the mic and secure it on me as I flew on stage. Oh well-it happens! It's live theater! I tried to focus! :)

While Childhood Slept "Home Number One" mp3 I was honored to be part of such a wonderful new musical. It was based on the true stories of two brave teachers and a group of creative children in Terezin--all Jews being persecuted during WWII. It was written by the very gifted directors of Applause, Jo Ellen Hubert and Sharon Sheppard... that we may never forget the innocent children caught in adult wars. The only survivor of this tragedy, Leo Lowy, was touched. During the play I was only in the chorus--my brother played a main part--but in the CD recording I sang various parts from Nazi guard to Jewish boy. I want to include three more songs that I did not sing but I thought were so haunting that I included them:

Peter Pan This is the second show I did with 1960 Playhouse, under the kind, warm hearted direction of Tina Cafeo. It was really a family affair! In this number is my brother Adam as John (hat and glasses), my sisters Genevieve and Juliet as Indians (Juliet was the tiniest at only 3 yrs!), My cousin LeAnn, a lost boy, sings with me a small solo. Another cousin not in this scene was Nana the dog and Mom helped assist direct and re-write the script. Wow!

Godspell When I first started with Applause Theater I was young and pretty scared--some of these kids were pretty darn good. I don't think I talked much that first year -- I had an awful lot to learn! Some of the faces in this number are people who are still my friends today. Theater has a way of making life long friends! |
